David Prosser

David Prosser was appointed the first director of SPARC Europe (an alliance of 110 research-led university libraries from 14 European countries) in October 2002. Previously, he spent ten years in science, technical, and medical journal publishing for both Oxford University Press and Elsevier Science. During this time he was involved in all aspects of publishing from production through to editorial and financial management of journals. Before becoming a publisher he received a PhD and BSc in Physics from Leeds University, UK.

Iryna Kuchma

Iryna Kuchnma is an eIFL Open Access Program Manager. eIFL.net is a powerful network of 2,220 libraries in 46 transitioning and developing countries with a combined population of 800 million people whose goal is to enable access to knowledge through libraries in developing and transition countries. eIFL-Open Access Program seeks to enhance access to, and greater use of research findings, increase the efficiency of research and developments, accelerate use and innovation, stimulate economy. Iryna comes to eIFL.net from International Renaissance Foundation (part of Soros Foundation network in Ukraine) where she was an Open Access Program manager.

Gideon Christian

Gideon Christian

Gideon Emcee Christian graduated from the faculty of law, University of Lagos in 2002. In 2003, he obtained a graduate certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from the World Bank Institute, Washington D.C having participated in the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program. Thereafter he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja and was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 2004. He practiced commercial law in Lagos, Nigeria before proceeding to the Univeristy of Ottawa, Canada where he obtained a Masters-of-Law (LL.M) degree with concentration in Information Technology and Biotechnology Law.

He is a 2008 winner of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) internship award and is currently researching on Open Access Institutional Repositories in academic and research institutions in Nigeria. He is a member of Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS), American Society of International Law (ASIL) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

Abudulsalami

Rilwanu Abdulsalami

Rilwanu ABDULSALAMI, is the Deputy University Librarian and head of e-library services, Kaduna State University, Kaduna, Nigeria. Presently, he is the first National Vice President of the Nigerian Library Association. He also served as the consultant to OSIWA (Open Society Initiative for West Africa) for the VSAT connectivity project to Ten Nigerian Universities. Between 2002-2004, Rilwanu also served as the country coordinator for electronic Information for libraries network (eIFL.net). In August 2005 he was appointed the country representative of eIFL-IP an advocacy programme in Intellectual Property and copyrights under eIFL.net.

Ezra Shiloba Gbaje

Ezra Shiloba Gbaje

Ezra Shiloba Gbaje has an interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in Technology (Mathematics and Computer Science) from FUT Minna, Nigeria and Masters in Library Science from School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State University, Kansas, USA.. On completion of his Masters he worked briefly as the Digital Services Librarian for the Raymon H Mulford Library, Medical University of Ohio, Ohio State USA(now University of Toledo Health Science Campus).  Ezra Shiloba Gbaje is currently back to the Department of Library and Information Science Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, doing what he loves: teaching, research and always looking for an opportunity to implement information and web technologies to facilitate access to information. Mr Ezra S Gbaje is Nigerian eIFL.net-Open Access Country Coordinator.

Ayo  Kusamotu

Ayo  Kusamotu was born in Lagos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998. He graduated from the University of Lagos in 1997 and has  been in private legal practice since then. He was an Associate at Abdulai,Taiwo & Co;Solicitors , a leading Intellectual Property and Corporate Law Firm in Nigeria. In 2001 he joined Kusamotu & Kusamotu to focus on Intellectual Property , Innovation and Technology. Kusamotu & Kusamotu is the Legal Project Lead for Creative Commons Nigeria and provides pro bono legal services to One Laptop per Child Association Inc. He is also an International Advisor to the One Laptop per Child Association Inc. Ayo is a Fellow of the Centre For Information Technology and Dispute Resolution at the University of Massachusetts, USA and Chair of the Africa Committee of internetbar.org. Ayo has written on Privacy    Law and Technology in Nigeria in Information & Communications Technology Law Journal ,Routledge, Taylor and Francis Group.
