Welcome to Open Access Repositories Workshop! Organized by Department of Library and Information Science, A.B.U Zaria, Nigeria in collaboration with Electronic Information for Libraries Network (eIFL.net) and Nigerian Universities Library Consortium
Open Access helps to enhance access to, and greater use of research findings, increase the efficiency of research and developments, accelerate use, innovation,and stimulate economy.
Objectives of this workshop are:

Enable participants appreciate the importance of Open Access Initiatives to the academia and society at large.

Identify the various Institutional Repository (IR)software and acquire skills to install and use Dspace
-
Advocate and formulate appropriate policy for implementing and sustaining IR and OA.

Have a better understanding of copyright issues and open content licenses as it relates to OA and IR.

Develop strategies for the promotion and marketing of Institutional Repository.(IR)
The target participants include:
- Policy makers in Universities and Research Institutes
- Scholars and Researchers
- Editors-in-chief of peer review scientific and scholarly journals
- University Librarians/ Systems Librarians
- University and Research ICT experts.
